Haven't written in here for a very long time. Just got busy with other things. Natalie and I saw some concerts this summer and had a really good time at all of them. We do wish we had arrived at the Rush concert at the very start, though. What a great show that was! I was just as surprised by those guys as I was when we saw the Eagles a year or so ago. What an amazing band.
We also saw Van Halen (Sammy was great, Eddie disappointing). And then a week or so ago we went to see Evanescence again. DP and I took Natalie and two of her friends. One was her ex boyfriend. They are still very good friends. He's a sweet boy. This was his first concert ever, and he had a really good time. The band was much better this time. They just sounded better. She gave us two unreleased songs, and this time MI was played on a baby grand piano instead of her little electronic keyboard. She also used it for BNM, which was one of the unreleased songs. Both were beautiful. My only complaint is that their portion of the show was way too short. They have lots and lots of unreleased material, and I just wish that they would go ahead and release it and tour with it and do full, real, honest-to-goodness concerts. Three back up bands are too many. It's good for those bands because it gives them exposure, but it's time for Evanescence to truly headline. Amy Lee has an absolutely beautiful voice. She has real talent.
Kind of sad to think that for all practical purposes, the Mac tour is over. I sure do hope they will get back in the studio and do another album. And I hope there will be a Stevie solo tour soon, too. | | Thursday, April 8th, 2004 | | 2:59 am |
Another day
Well, I did paint today for a while. I should have yesterday, too, because it never did rain in my neighborhood. I heard some pretty big thunder, but it never rained. Oh well. We'll get that fence painted eventually! DP has a three day weekend this weekend, so we'll work on it then. That will be cool. :) He has been working a lot lately, and I have missed him. Anyway, the fence looks a lot better, even with just primer on it. I like wooden fences painted better than leaving it unpainted. Eventually the unpainted ones just look yucky, IMHO. So, we're painting ours. It's a big job, but it will be worth it. We had it custom made so that when it's painted, it'll hopefully look as though it's always been here. I think it will be a nice backdrop for flowers, once we get going on those. I can't wait to plant some climbing roses to grow over the arbor, and some ivy to grow up the side of the house. We're going to plant some lilac bushes to camoflage the chain link fence way in the back. I hate chain link. The stuff that's back there is all brand new, but I just don't like it. But, picket is awfully darned expensive. We sure found that out! So, the back yard got chain link. :/ Lilac bushes will help, though. There is still some unresolved stuff with some people I care an awful lot about. Hopefully it will all be resolved soon. People will be hurt -- there is no way around it. But I just hope that everything will turn out for the best. Just found out that FM will be doing 'Sara' on this leg of the tour!!! :D :D :D I am dying here! I am soooooooooooooooooo happy we bought the tickets to the Champaign show! I have absolutely no guilt whatsoever about spending the money now!! He-heeeeeee!!! Evidently they will also be doing DR! (yes!!!!!) and a couple of others that were not mentioned by name. I just couldn't be happier about this! Anyway, that's been my day today. And it's not over yet. I still have a very messy kitchen to clean. ;) Current Mood: still a little worried. :/Current Music: 'Brushes' -- I'm in love with it. :) | | Tuesday, April 6th, 2004 | | 6:45 pm |
Well, another day. Didn't paint today, because I couldn't be sure it wouldn't rain. Daisy has been all clingy for some reason. Wants me to hold her all the time. Natalie made Thespians at school and was very excited about that last night. Pretty cool. I think that means she will letter. The "bad stuff" that has happened has not been resolved yet and it makes me sad. I think I'll go work on something to get my mind off it. |
